In this section authors will find the guidelines to submit papers. The guidelines are general writing rules for controlled languages. The following writing rules will reduce ambiguities in the texts so that your papers will be ideal for machine translation.
RULE I
Write sentences that are shorter than 25 words.

• Confirm once the new profile is published.
Do not write:
Authors wishing to modify their profile on the website should to send an email to the editorial board informing that they want to change their profile. Then they will send a copy of their new profile and wait to confirm once the profile has been published on the journal website.
RULE II:
Write sentences that express only one idea.
Write:
The authors will use the guidelines to write their papers. The guidelines optimize the texts for machine translation.
Do not write:
By using the guidelines for writing papers, the authors will ensure that the texts are ready for MT and that they will produce better results.

Write the same sentence if you want to express the same content.

Write sentences that have a simple grammatical structure.

Submission Guidelines
Papers submitted to The Big Wave must not have been accepted for publication elsewhere or be under review for another publication.
Papers should be between 1,500 and 2,500 words long, including end notes.
Abstracts should not be longer than 250 words. At the head of abstracts, authors should indicate the title of the article, the name(s), affiliation(s) and email address(es) of the author(s), with three to five keywords. Abstracts should be written in clear, reader-friendly English.
All submissions must be in English. Papers submitted in a language other than English (possibly one among Italian, French, Spanish, or Russian) should also include an English version.
Articles must be submitted in electronic format. Authors should send Microsoft Word or RTF files with extension .doc or .rtf or plain HTML without extra formatting.
Articles must be formatted using the following standard values:
- margins (top, bottom, left and right): 2 cm;
- spacing: 1 (including endnotes and bibliography);
- font text: 11 pt Times New Roman;
- spelling: US English.
All submitted papers will be carefully reviewed by the editors and at least one member of the editorial board for originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of expression.
Failure to comply with the formatting instructions for submitted papers will lead to the outright rejection of the paper without review.
